- 1998, when angelina divanni, a young european from italy, took a trip to the United States with 500 dollars and a bag full of dreams. After finding a new home amongst new york , divannis began to take shape. The luxury and comfort proved to be a perfect fit for the high-end footwear world and soon divannis had become the destination for UGGs. The media reach expanded into more and more . The business continued to grow steadily as UGGs reached beyond the beaches of California to New York City - and beyond. In 2003, UGGs was named Footwear News' "Brand of the Year" and was responsible for the creation of an entirely new category of footwear. From that moment on, sheepskin footwear would be seen on the runways in Milan, Paris and New York; and it all began whit one name,uggs.
